About Guildwood Village

Guildwood Village is a close knit community in south-eastern Scarborough with a population of almost 10,000 people bordered by Kingston Road, the CN Tracks, West Hill Creek, the shore of Lake Ontario and Bethune Boulevard.

The land that makes up Guildwood Village belonged to Rosa and Spencer Clark who purchased the land in 1932 and operated The Guild of all Arts, a place where artists could come and practice their craft and teach visitors. They later developed a hotel on the property creating the Guild Inn.

Guildwood Village was a neighbourhood developed around the Guild Inn in 1957 starting with the "Avenue of Homes."
