That was the trend in Scarborough-Guildwood and across the country Monday for the 42nd General Election. Every single Scarborough riding turned red, including those previously held by Conservative incumbent Roxanne James and NDP incumbent Dan Harris, as part of the country-wide “red wave.”
In Scarborough Guildwood, John McKay won by a landslide leaving his Conservative counterpart, Chuck Konkel, well behind after only 50 out of the 181 polls had been counted and more than doubling Konkel’s vote count by the end of the night.
Here are the final tallies,
John McKay - Liberal (elected): 25,187 votes
Chuck Konkel - Conservative: 11,109 votes
Laura Casselman - NDP: 4,720 votes
Kathleen Holding - Green: 606 votes
Other: 327 votes
Total Votes: 41,949
Percent Turnout: 66.27%
