Teal Pumpkin Project

Halloween for many kids means dressing up as superheroes, princesses or their favourite movie or TV character and going out and getting free candy. For some kids though Halloween can be dangerous and potentially deadly night.

Halloween can be stressful for kids, and parents of kids, that have food allergies, specifically nut allergies. This is the reason that Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) has created the Teal Pumpkin Project. The project's aim is to promote “safety, inclusion and respect of individuals managing food allergies. This nationwide movement offers an alternative for kids with food allergies, as well as other children for whom candy is not an option, and keeps Halloween a fun, positive experience for all!”
