Traffic Study

Speed Limit Review: Guildwood Parkway from Poplar Road to Morningside Avenue

Transportation has completed a speed limit review on Guildwood Parkway, from Poplar Road to Morningside Avenue due to a request to reduce the speed. The finding show that it does not meet the criteria for a reduction in the speed limit from the existing posted 50 km/h to 40 km/h speed limit.

I will bring this matter to the October 13, 2016 Scarborough Community Council Meeting to request support to have the speed limit reduced.

The conclusions made by Transportations Services are based on a 40 km/h Speed Limit Warrant study which involved a review of the Pedestrian Environment category and the Road and Traffic Environment category. The results of our study indicate that the technical warrants for the installation of a 40 km/h speed limit are not met along the subject portion of Guildwood Parkway.

Livingston Road between Rowatson Road and Toynbee Trail (south intersection)

Transportation has completed a request to review the parking regulations on the east side of Livingston Road between Rowatson Road and Toynbee Trail (south intersection). Based on the review, it was concluded that changes to the existing parking regulation signs at the subject location are not justified.

Currently, two schools are located on the east side of Livingston Road between Rowatson Road and Toynbee Trail (south intersection). Parking is permitted for a maximum of 30 minutes, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday on the east side of Livingston Road, except in regulatory School Bus Loading Zones and fire hydrant zones. Stopping is prohibited, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday on the west side of Livingston Road.
