On a Grey Saturday morning a brave group of about 50 Guildwood residents including Laurier Students braved the wind and the potential for rainfall to participate in the Friends of the Guild Park and Gardens Fall Shoreline Cleanup as part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

It was an extremely successful clean up with almost 100kg of waste collected from the Lake Ontario Shoreline including a tire found by 6 year-old Libby Dubroy and 4 year-old Maddy Dubroy. The Top 3 things found were small plastic pieces, cigarette butts, and paper, these three things represented over half of all the items picked up.

Another highlight of the day was meeting Bowie the Beach Cleaning Robot and creator Erin Kennedy from @RobotMissions who came all the way from Kingston for a field test. The Laurier students in attendance, some of whom were part of the robotics team, got the chance to check out Bowie and even take him for a spin.
